Life with chronic illness is filled with challenges, but it’s also filled with so much hope! When you slow your pace and begin to see that constant hustle just leads to more hustle, you become an observer. And in doing so, you begin to see more beauty in all things around you. Less hustle means more time for balancing your living, finding inner peace, healing, and living more authentically. And when you do this, like the sunflower, you SHINE!
You can begin by making small adjustments in your daily life, focusing on what brings you healing and happiness, and always looking into the face of hope. If you look closely, you’ll notice my logo is based on the sunflower!
3 Ways the Sunflower Inspires Better Well-being
Hope
The sunflower is the only flower that always faces the sun so that it can receive maximum sunlight. By embracing a positive spirit, filled with gratitude and compassion, you too are reflecting hope and inspiration. This mindset opens new opportunities, from how you approach the world, to how others see you, to openness in how to approach your healing. Each day, every day – is a new opportunity for hope.
Overcoming Obstacles
When you look to each day with new hope and encouragement, you realize that you are just right, right where and how you are. With this acceptance, you can embrace your imperfections, those limitations that have been holding you back. And when you do this, the sky opens! By embracing your limitations, you remove your main limitation – YOU! I call this The Power of I Can’t® and it’s lifechanging and empowering!
Energy, Healing & Compassion
The sunflower also represents energy, healing, and compassion. These are all important life forces to living a happy, fulfilling life. Like the sunflower, you too can maximize your energy and personal growth. One way is by working to align your life (work, relationships, hobbies) with your values, strengths, and passions.
You can also make small adjustments in your daily living, moving through the day in a way that both conserves and gives energy. For example, I love to walk at the ocean. A gentle walk is healing and energizing. It gives me time and space to ponder, to consider all the good in my life, and to allow solutions and new ideas to come to me.
Always look towards hope, focus on what gives you energy, and like the sunflower, you will inspire happiness, health, and life in others.
Time to Ponder: What one small adjustment can you make today to bring more health, happiness, and hope into your life? Is it looking at a limitation with a new perspective? Making more time for you? Setting a new boundary? Practicing more self-compassion? I’d love to hear what new opportunity for hope you are embracing from within.
